Ireland pick up two wins on second day of Netball Europe Open Championship [Cayman Islands also win]

Ireland won both their matches as action continued today at the Netball Europe Open Championship on the Isle of Man.

The team started with a 64-24 victory over Israel at the National Sports Centre in Douglas.

They followed this up by beating United Arab Emirates 42-23.

Elsewhere, the UK Armed Forces kept up their perfect record thanks to a 40-33 win at the expense of Isle of Man.

The hosts bounced back from that loss to overcome the Cayman Islands 56-44.

Today's two other matches saw the Cayman Islands beat the United Arab Emirates 52-34 and Gibraltar defeat Israel 78-24.

The round-robin tournament is due to continue tomorrow.

Action is scheduled to conclude on Sunday (May 12).
