Cayman
Heart Fund Donates AED to the Cayman Islands Boxing Association
(Grand
Cayman, August 28th, 2019) The Cayman
Heart Fund (CHF) recently donated a HeartSine 360P AED to the Cayman
Islands Boxing Association (CIBA), with which CHF is planning to hold
a health focused day called Know Your Numbers near the end of
October. Know Your Numbers will be a family event to which the entire
community will be invited to CIBA’s gym for a free health screening
and information in order to raise awareness and have lots of fun.
Tristan
Wesenhagen, CIBA’s Vice President, stated that “CIBA is delighted
with the CHF’s donation which allows them to further prioritize the
health and safety of their members and the public generally. Our
youth programs have grown rapidly and now the Truman Bodden Sports
Complex has 2 AED's at its disposal.
Maureen
Cubbon, CHF Board Member, said, “We are pleased to be partnering
with CIBA to offer a fun-filled, health-focused day for the
community. Knowing your numbers is crucial to overall wellness and
the Cayman Heart Fund happily supports this through our many free
community health screening events throughout the year.”
Mr.
Wesenhagen also said “As a national sports association for Amateur
Boxing and a registered NPO we rely on sponsorship from Cayman
Islands Government, the Olympic Committee, private sponsors and
generous sponsors like Elite Marble & Granite and the Cayman
Heart Fund. All our youth programs from Amateur Boxing to
Calisthenics to early intervention programs for at risk youth are
free of charge and we like to keep it that way. Sports should always
be accessible to youth.”
Dr.
Bella Beraha, CHF Vice-Chairperson, said, “In alignment with our
core values and mission, the CHF is proud to donate a lifesaving
piece of equipment (defibrillator) to the CI Boxing Association. The
boxing association does admirable work with our youth and we are
pleased we can assist them in providing a safe environment where
people can exercise.”
The
Cayman Heart Fund (CHF) is a non-profit, non-government organization
dedicated to the reduction of heart and circulatory disease in the
