The Editor speaks: Where hate is protected. Here in the Cayman Islands?
Colin Wilson

Since my condemnation, in a recent Editorial I wrote, against MLA Anthony Eden's attempt (that succeeded) in linking one of the reasons for our recent earthquake to God's vengeance on the LGBTQ brigade, I have been taken to task myself for condemning him. Here is some more fodder to be used against me...

There is absolutely no doubt that Eden
brought the motion calling for government to reaffirm the right to
freedom of expression to protect pastors from allegations of hate
speech when they try and protect freedom of religion, was aimed
squarely at the LGBTQ.

It is great pity he did it and an even
greater pity not one single MLA objected to it.

Therefore, now, Cayman Pastors can give
a hate speech against a certain faction they disapprove of on the
grounds that it is protecting Christianity.

Pastors do not need protecting as the Bible very clearly spells out that "LOVE” comes first and "HATE" has no part in Christianity. Here is what the Bible says about "LOVE".

“Three things will last
forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love”
- 1 Corinthians 13:13.

“For in Christ Jesus neither
circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. All that matters is
faith, expressed through love.” Galatians 5:6.

“...and continually recalling before
our God and Father your work of faith, your labor of love, and your
enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 1:3.

“Love is patient and kind; love does
not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on
its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at
wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things,
believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1
Corinthians 13:4-7.

“A new commandment I give to you,
that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to
love one another. By this all people will know that you are my
disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

This is what the Bible says about
“HATE”.

“If anyone says, “I love God,”
and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his
brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” 1
John 4:20. - NOTE: We are ALL brothers in Christ.

“Hatred stirs up strife, but love
covers all offenses.” Proverbs 10:12.

“Everyone who hates his brother is a
murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in
him.” 1 John 3:15.

“You shall not hate your brother in
your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you
incur sin because of him.” Leviticus 19:17.

“Whoever says he is in the light and
hates his brother is still in darkness.” 1 John 2:9.

“But whoever hates his brother is in
the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is
going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.” 1 John 2:11

“If the world hates you, know that it
has hated me before it hated you.” John 15:18

There are many, many other references.
I think I have made my case.

Hate does not need and must not be
protected.

I leave you with this warning:

“And because lawlessness will be
increased, the love of many will grow cold.” Matthew 24:12.
