The Editor speaks: What's important to me is unimportant to you

“Giving an insignificant thing your
attention is a form of self-disrespect.”
― Mokokoma Mokhonoana
“Be kind to the things which are
unimportant for you because at any time life can make them very
important for you!”
― Mehmet Murat ildan
“We are unimportant creatures in this
universe. We are all alone for the moment. Nobody has ever sent us
any holy book or whatsoever. To survive in this universe we must
first understand that nobody can help us, nobody but ourselves! To be
important creatures in this universe means is to be able to shape
this universe in such a way that our existence become everlasting!”
― Mehmet Murat ildan
“If you keep giving importance to
unimportant things, you can never achieve important things!”
― Mehmet Murat ildan
“Sometimes we can’t quite put our
finger on something important because we’ve got our fingers wrapped
around so many other things that are not important.”
― Craig D. Lounsbrough
“The real test of a saint is not
one's willingness to preach the gospel, but one's willingness to do
something like washing the disciples' feet--that is, being willing to
do those things that seem unimportant in human estimation but count
as everything to God.”
― Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His
Highest
“There is not necessarily a
correlation between how much time or effort a thing demands and how
important or useful it is.”
― Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Yesterday was the most important day in
my life. It was my birthday. Not just any birthday. It was my 77th
birthday.
So what? There are millions of people
who reach and pass 77 years!
Ah. But I was not supposed to be alive
to reach 77. I announced to the world – actually to my Christian
brethren – five years ago when I was told this devastating news
from my doctors, I would celebrate my 77th birthday FIVEFOLD and
wanted all my brothers to celebrate it with me.
As the years got nearer to my untimely
death I reminded everyone that I was proving the doctors wrong and
only God knows when that event is going to happen.
I reminded my Christian brethren last
February 29th (yes it is Leap Year) my next birthday was
going to be the most important one of my life. I wanted to share it
with everyone and give God thanks.
Alas. The coronavirus put paid to the
physical part but we still have the the Internet. Over the Internet
last Sunday my 77th birthday was announced to the world.
Yesterday I waited. I did receive
unexpected greetings.Wonderful...... Thank you....
Alas, there was not one greeting from
the people I expected. Zero.
You see, what is important to me is not
important to you.
That, my dear readers is a fact of life and I should have learn't from all those quotes above.
It doesn't mean we are not loved. We just don't have time to see the same importance unless it is actually US!!
A lesson we all must learn.
