POEMS ARE WRITTEN BY FOOLS

By Joan (Watler) Wilson

Poems
are written by fools like me

But only God can make a tree’.

*

These
words are so true I can't deny

Much better written than by you or I.

*

For
a poem is only words that rhyme

And are put on paper at any time.

*

Unlike
a tree which takes years to grow

From a seed so small we have to sow.

*

Its
spreading branches so big and strong

Is home for the birds and it must be wrong.

*

For
anyone in their rightful mind

To chop a tree down and be so unkind.

*

To
birds in their nests with babies destroyed

Oh how it makes us all annoyed.

BABY SHOWER

By Joan (Watler) Wilson

A
baby shower for a new mom to be

Very
useful presents for all to see

Baby
oil and powder to keep the skin so sweet

Bibs
and napkins and nice crib sheets

Are
but a few of the gifts that will be given

To
this beautiful baby – your gift from heaven.

*

And when you give birth to this bundle of joy

It’ll
make no difference if it’s a girl or boy.

Just
so it’s O.K. and you’re feeling fine

You
can relax and sleep ‘til it’s feeding time.
