A much-admired superyacht registered in the Cayman Islands has been turning heads in Scotland.

Award-winning Narvalo berthed at Alexandra Wharf in the port of Lerwick in the Shetland Islands on Monday, drawing the attention of locals, having crossed the Atlantic Ocean in recent weeks.

Designed and equipped for extreme voyages, the Italian-built 33.4m ocean-going vessel is an unusual sight in a working port more commonly used by less glamorous and more mundane vessels such as fishing and pilot boats.

A familiar name in superyacht circles

Launched in May 2016, Narvalo won best interior at the International Superyacht Society Awards in 2016, and the following year received the judge’s special award for quality and value at the World Superyacht Awards.

She was recently listed for sale at just under CI $10 million and is believed to have been sold to an anonymous buyer for an undisclosed price.

Cayman is one of the most important jurisdictions for the superyacht sector, with hundreds of high-value vessels registered under the Islands flag.
