The important benefits of playground shade and the different styles of shade structures

Kids love to play in packs and the summer months give present the perfect opportunity to do that for long hours. Every other school-going kid in the neighborhood is on break and the weather is just perfect. Thus, having a play space in your backyard would not be a bad idea during this break. Community playground administrators too can expect higher patronage.

Unfortunately, playing in the sun
exposes children to a variety of health risks. The only way you can
marry their love for playing outdoors and your concern for their
safety is by ensuring their playgrounds are properly shaded. Whether
you’re an administrator or a parent with a backyard play zone,
below are some of the reasons you should consider installing a
playground
shade
.

Protection from UV rays

UV rays are potentially damaging to the
skin of adults and children alike. However, children are more
vulnerable to skin cancer arising from exposure to the sun’s UV
rays. One of the most important safety tips for your child is to
ensure they always wear sunscreen while going to the playground. Even
at that, sunscreens alone cannot protect them through long hours of
play on a sunny day. Playground shades provide the necessary physical
barrier between the sun’s rays and the kids. The materials from
which the shade is constructed might even have special protective
features. This leaves you safe in the knowledge that your kids would
remain protected after the sunscreen wears off.

Longer hours of play

A healthy dose of play is vital to the all-round development of children. Considering the academic rigors they’ve endured, the holiday is the perfect time to let them play for long periods. However, this can only happen if your backyard is shaded. When you know they’re exposed to the sun without any form of protection, you will have little choice but to truncate their playtime. Even on community play areas, parents would need to restrict the time their children spend.
