Jamaica: PNP changes debate team

From Jamaica Debates Commission

KINGSTON,
August
24, 2020
:
The Opposition Peoples National Party (PNP) has advised the Jamaica
Debates Commission that its team for Tuesday night’s Social Issues
Debate has been changed. The 3-person team will now comprise Dayton
Campbell, Lisa Hanna and Raymond Price. The Jamaica Labour Party team
for the event is unchanged from Christopher Tufton, Kamina
Johnson-Smith and Floyd Green

According
to PNP sources, the party was making the changes “out
of an abundance of caution” as two members of the previously
announced team may have become exposed to COVID-19.

The
JDC-organized
debate on Social Issues will be staged at the Creative Production &
Training Centre beginning at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 25. The
other two debates in the 2020 series will be staged on Thursday
August 27 (Economic Issues pitting the Jamaica Labour Party’s Nigel
Clarke against the PNP’s Mark Golding), while the culminating
Leaders’ Debate between Prime Minister Andrew Holness and
Opposition Leader Peter Phillips, will take place on Saturday August
27.
