BANK
ASSURES SAFETY PROTOCOLS IN PLACE TO PROTECT EMPLOYEES AND THE PUBLIC
AFTER ONE EMPLOYEE TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID-19,

George
Town, Cayman Islands, 8 June 2020

–- CIBC FirstCaribbean has assured its clients that its office
building has undergone a thorough cleaning over the weekend, after
one of its employees at its Main Street building tested positive for
COVID-19. All of the bank’s offices were therefore able to open
safely to the public this morning.

The
bank is an active participant in the Cayman Islands Health Services
Authority (HSA) employee-screening programme for COVID- 19, which is
done in compliance with directions from the Cayman Islands Government
and participating testing partners. A total of 82 employees were
screened.

We
are in contact with our affected team member, who is asymptomatic.
The affected staff member will remain home in isolation for the next
14 days, and is receiving all the necessary support. Our best wishes
are with our affected employee.

As
part of our COVID Emergency Response Plan, the Health Services
Authority was notified and we took their advice and made all
necessary arrangements to deep clean and sanitize the premises over
the weekend.

CIBC
FirstCaribbean’s Managing Director for Cayman Operating Company,
Mark McIntyre, noted: ‘the testing programme is an on-going
process, particularly for front-line staff. We assure both our staff
and our clients that the safety of staff, clients and the community
will continue to be paramount in our minds and we will remain in full
compliance with any HSA directives.”

Mr.
McIntyre added that the bank continues to implement and enforce a
number of safety measures and protocols daily to keep everyone
on-site safe.
