4 reasons why women are excellent drivers
- Women are safe drivers. While men are more likely to take risks behind the wheel, women tend to be more courteous and considerate. Women tend to approach potential hazards cautiously, use their mirrors correctly, and slow down at yellow lights, ultimately causing fewer accidents compared to men.
- Women drive with finesse. In a 2015 study, woman drivers comfortably beat men in a series of driving tests. Women also tend to be cited for fewer traffic violations compared to men.
- Motherly instincts. Estrogen contributes to a woman’s natural tendency to protect those around her, making them more likely to steer clear of accident-causing behaviors.
- Women have long attention spans. A survey conducted by the Institute of Transport Economics found that young men were among the most likely to report distraction. Estrogen in women, on the other hand, leads to longer attention spans and the ability to focus on important things, even when distracted. As a group, women drivers also tend to listen more effectively and are more open to learning when compared to men.
