RCIPS arrested two adults over drugs and an unlicensed firearm in North Side

Two people have been arrested after officers from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service and Customs and Border Control searched a residence on Long Lariat Road in North Side and recovered suspected ganja, cocaine, cash and an unlicensed firearm.

The man and woman who were present at the residence were arrested on suspicion of drug offences and possible firearms offences.

Officers then extended their search to a nearby premises and to several vehicles parked on and outside the property. That wider search resulted in the recovery of further quantities of suspected ganja and the unlicensed firearm. The items were seized for investigative purposes.

Police carried out the searches under the Firearms Act and the Misuse of Drugs Act. The force did not say what led officers to the address or whether the search was intelligence-led.
