Photo Identification Recovered from Canoe Intercepted During Police Patrol Sunday Night
RCIPS detectives from the Drugs and Serious Crime Task Force (DSCTF) are continuing in their search for 4 persons who entered Cayman waters illegally on a Jamaican type canoe in North Side Sunday night, 25 October.
Personal identification was recovered in the canoe which appears to belong to a male by the name of Jade Brown, who is approximately 42 years old. The identification photo is attached.
The RCIPS is conducting a search in the Cayman Kai area today for 4 persons who came ashore last night after 10;00pm Sunday 25 October 2015 in the vicinity of Sand Point Rd, North Side.
The men were aboard a Jamaican type canoe, off shore in North Side when the crew of a Joint Marine Unit patrol vessel Niven D spotted them. The suspicious boat fled on seeing the patrol vessel, who gave chase. The crew of the patrol boat observed the occupants of the canoe throwing packages overboard. A number of packages have been recovered containing vegetable matter resembling ganja . The canoe was later located beached, off Sand Point Road; where the occupants escaped.
The search is ongoing and investigators from the Drugs and Serious Crime Task Force is asking any member of the public seeing anyone suspicious or persons who do not belong in the area to call the Bodden Town Police Station on 947.2220.

Four persons who arrived in the Cayman Islands by drug canoe on Sunday 25 October 2015 have evaded a police chase and continuing search in the North Side area. It is suspected that they could steal a vessel for use to escape the Cayman Islands.
Man Charged – Controlled Drugs
On Thursday 22nd October 2015, Detectives from the RCIPS executed a search warrant at Lakeside Apartments, Georgetown where a 24 year old male was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs and detained at Georgetown Police Station.
On Sunday 25th October 2015, he was charged with the following offences,
1. Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Supply
2. Possession of Cocaine
5. Possession of Ganja
6. Being Concerned in the Possession of Ganja With Intent To Supply
7. Possession of a Utensil used in the Possession or Consumption of a Controlled Drug
8. Destruction of Evidence under section 106 of the Penal Code (2014 Revision)
The accused will be appearing before the court later today.
