Ebanks was convicted of 17 counts of various fraud and theft related offenses including over $50,000 stolen from the local Apple store and more than $80,000 from the ERA over a six month period when he headed up the public authority.

Ebanks confirmed he is bankrupt, with debts exceeding half a million dollars and a bank is in the process of repossessing his home.

Ebanks stated through his attorney during his sentencing hearing that he was a liar, a thief and a drug addict and his crimes should not be "sugar coated" or excuses made for him as he had made those decisions and no one else was to blame.
