U.S. moves toward action on Uyghur forced labor with overwhelming support for new bill

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act with rare bipartisan support, bringing the country a step closer to enforcing the world's first national legislation targeting Uyghur forced labor. The bill would block goods made with forced labor in the Uyghur Region, impose sanctions on those responsible, and require the Secretary of State to weigh calling the forced labor system a genocide.Read more...
