On Wednesday, 28 February, during a joint operation between His Majesty’s Cayman Islands Prison Service, the Department of Public Safety Communications, and the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, a Prison Officer was observed smuggling contraband into HMP Northward. 

The Prison Officer was subsequently arrested on suspicion of the offence of Smuggling.

He was transported to the CI Prisoner Detention Centre where he remains in custody pending further police investigation.
