Hit & Run Accident - Hirst Road

In respect to the below releases, in relation to the bicyclist who lost his life, the RCIPS can now name him. His name is Anthony David James Moore aged 34 of Newlands, Savannah.

Officers of the Traffic Department are seeking the help of anyone who may have been on Hirst Road (better known as Newlands Road) between Shamrock Road and Butterfly Circle, between the hours of 3:15 am and 4:45 am on Saturday, 30th April 2016 to contact PC Orville Harris (324-9853) or Sergeant Butler (325-5958) if they had witnessed anything in relation to the death of the deceased.

Alternatively, if anyone who may have heard any sound that sounded like a vehicle's collision between these times to contact those Officers.

Just after 4:30 am this morning, the police received a report of a hit & run accident on Hirst Road in the vicinity of Butterfly Circle involving a bicyclist and a motor vehicle. The bicyclist has succumbed to his injuries.
