Shortly before 1:30AM today, 18 February, officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Elgin Avenue in the vicinity Claude Hill Road, involving a Toyota Land Cruiser. The vehicle had left the roadway and overturned, coming to a rest on the property of the Government Administration Building. The driver of the vehicle left the scene of the accident prior to the arrival of the officers.

Earlier this afternoon, the driver of the vehicle, a man age 46 of George Town, was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident. He was subsequently granted bail.

The incident remains under investigation.
