A quick update—and a meaningful opportunity

From Joanna Ewart-James, Freedom United

We all know this year has been difficult for human rights. With economic pressures affecting most of us, then the climate crisis, and hostile policies on migration, more and more vulnerable people are being pushed into taking risks that lead to trafficking and forced labor.
Through it all, our community has remained focused: exposing modern slavery, challenging those who profit from it, and insisting on accountability. A gift today strengthens that collective effort and keeps this work moving when it’s needed most.

Recently, we shared that we were 208 supporters away from matching last year’s donor community. Since then, 74 more people have stepped up! We just need 134 people to help us reach that same level of collective strength.
Freedom United doesn’t take government or institutional funding. Our investigations, advocacy, and pressure campaigns—from exposing forced labor in supply chains to confronting abuses in detention centers—rely entirely on people who believe this work must remain independent.
As the year comes to an end, your support helps ensure we begin the next one able to follow evidence wherever it leads, name names without hesitation, and keep pushing for accountability where others won’t.
If you can, we’d be grateful to count you in the community closing that gap.
