Snapshot of Loss and Damage in SIDS under the Climate Promise

As discussions on climate-related loss and damage evolve, due in large part to the leadership of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and frontline communities, increasing emphasis is being placed on the needs of countries and communities to respond to loss and damage. Loss and damage has been identified as an emerging area of interest in SIDS’ national climate plans.

This report provides an analysis and overview of loss and damage concerns in the 32 SIDS supported by UNDP's Climate Promise initiative.

Global Pathways to Green Cities and Coastal Areas

James Ellsmoor, CEO of Island Innovation, participated yesterday in a workshop at the Extreme Hangout Pavilion. The session gathered other experts, policymakers, and advocates to explore innovative approaches to urban sustainability, coastal protection, and community justice, emphasising collaborative models that inspire transformative climate policy and empower local communities.
