Cayman: DEH Operations on Constitution Day 2025 - Monday July 7

By: Yolanda Morales-Carvalho

The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is advising the public of the early closure of the George Town Landfill operation on Monday, July 7, 2025, in observance of Constitution Day.

The George Town Landfill will close at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 7, 2025. No derelict vehicles or scrap metal will be received through the gate on this day. However, regular garbage collection and recycling operations will be as normal on this public holiday. Regular operations at the George Town Landfill will resume on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Members of the public are also encouraged to use the 24-hour drop-off site at the entrance of the landfill which will remain open to facilitate the disposal of small amounts of waste from residential customers, if necessary.

There will be no changes in the schedule for Sister Islands and collections as normal.
