Weather In Cayman

Synopsis

Cloudiness and thundershowers along with fresh southwesterly winds and rough seas is expected to continue through the next 24 hours as Hurricane Irma moves towards Florida. Radar images show scattered showers over the Cayman area moving northeast. The National Hurricane Center in Miami Florida is issuing advisories on Hurricanes Irma and Jose. At 4 am Hurricane Irma, a category 4 hurricane was located near 24.1 N and 81.5 W or about 40 miles south-southeast of Key West Florida. Irma is moving towards the northwest at 8 mph with maximum sustained winds of 130 mph. Further information can be found on Hurricane Irma as well as Hurricane Jose at www.nhc.noaa.gov. THIS HURRICANE POSES NO IMMEDIATE THREAT TO THE CAYMAN ISLANDS.
