TRAC Automotive has donated a new Changan UNI-K to the Breast Cancer Foundation to help the charity extend its outreach and support services across the Cayman Islands.

The new SUV will support the Foundation as it delivers breast cancer services in Cayman, including outreach, early detection support, awareness programmes, wellness services and practical assistance to people in need.

The Foundation said the Changan UNI-K would help its team work more flexibly and reliably, allowing staff to reach more people in the Cayman Islands community and respond more easily as services for residents affected by breast cancer continue to expand.

Taking Breast Cancer Support Beyond The Office

According to the Breast Cancer Foundation, the new Changan UNI-K will support its public programmes and community outreach work across Cayman. That includes community outreach, early detection, awareness, wellness services and support for women and families affected by breast cancer.

Beverly Edgington, Chief Operating Officer of the Breast Cancer Foundation, said the donation would directly strengthen the organisation's ability to serve the community.

"This donation means so much to us because it directly increases our ability to be there for the people who need us," she said.

Edgington said the vehicle would also help the Foundation move its work beyond its usual base and into the wider community.

"A vehicle may seem like a practical gift, but for us it represents something much bigger. It means our team can get out into the community, reach more people and deliver our services where they are needed. Ultimately, every journey this vehicle makes will be about supporting someone affected by breast cancer," she said.

The Foundation said its work has expanded in recent years as more people in Cayman seek support during their breast cancer journey. Its services now reach beyond financial assistance.

The addition of the Changan UNI-K is expected to give the organisation greater reliability and mobility as it continues delivering these services across the islands. The Foundation said easier travel would help staff respond more quickly to calls for support.

A Practical Commitment To Giving Back

Edgington said the donation also demonstrates the importance of businesses making practical contributions to community organisations.

TRAC Automotive said it chose to support the Foundation with a contribution that could be put to immediate use. A company representative said the organisation knew the Foundation's team was regularly out in the community supporting women and families affected by breast cancer and wanted to provide practical assistance.

We know that their team is out every day supporting women and families affected by breast cancer, and we wanted our contribution to be something practical that would help them continue that work," the representative said.

The donated Changan UNI-K has also been branded with Breast Cancer Foundation graphics, helping make the organisation and its cause visible as the vehicle travels throughout the community.

Extending Support Across Cayman

The Foundation did not say whether the vehicle donation would be enough to meet rising demand, or what other resources it still needs to keep pace with requests for help.

The organisation said it is working to make breast cancer support, education and early detection available to people throughout the Cayman Islands.

"We will put this vehicle to work, and its impact will be felt in the lives of the women and families we support for years to come," Edgington said.

The Foundation thanked TRAC Automotive for the donation and said the Changan UNI-K would support its outreach work across the islands. As the vehicle is put into service, the charity said it will help extend breast cancer support and education to more people across the Cayman Islands.
