Stingray Media, known by its tagline “The Most Powerful Name In Media,” hosted its Summer Clash Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, July 25, bringing together 12 teams for a morning of competitive sport, community engagement and support for the YMCA Cayman Islands.

Presented by Davenport Development Ltd, the tournament took place at Pickleball Cayman Courts, with teams competing in warm summer conditions as temperatures climbed into the upper 80s Fahrenheit. The facility’s shaded areas helped provide relief between matches, while Lucozade Caribbean supported participants as the event’s premium beverage sponsor.

The event also received support from The Insurance Company of the West Indies (ICWI) and Logic Cayman as supporting sponsors.

Team Ball Busters claimed the tournament championship, with RestTakers finishing as runners-up. The event combined competitive play with a fundraising initiative benefiting YMCA Cayman Islands, bringing together teams, sponsors and supporters from across the community.

Paul Goodall, a member of the winning Team Ball Busters squad, praised the event’s atmosphere and the effort behind its organisation.

“Another great dodgeball tournament organised by Stingray Media. Huge thanks to all participants for making it an unforgettable day of sport and camaraderie,” Goodall said.

Mika Lacerda, Events Lead at Stingray Media, said the tournament reflected the continued growth of the company’s annual events and the strong support of the wider Cayman business community.

“Summer Clash delivered an incredible day of competition, teamwork, and community spirit. We’re delighted to see the continued growth of our annual events, driven by the enthusiasm of our listeners and the tremendous support of the business community here on island. Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to every team, sponsor, and supporter who helped make the tournament such a success. Beyond the competition, we’re proud that portions of Summer Clash’s proceeds benefit YMCA Cayman Islands and help support the valuable programmes they provide to our community.”

Stingray Media said the Summer Clash Dodgeball Tournament forms part of its broader, year-round programme of community-focused events, connecting audiences, businesses and charitable organisations through sport, entertainment and initiatives that benefit the wider Cayman community.

That commitment extends through its partnership with Stuff the Bus, an annual philanthropic initiative supporting students and families ahead of the new school year. The community can contribute to the 2026 campaign by donating new school supplies at participating partner locations, including Stingray Media’s office at 38 Godfrey Nixon Way, Grand Cayman, during the donation drive running until 6 August.
