Appleby Staff Raises over $8,000 for Local Charities
Appleby’s Human Resources Manager Christine Grizzel, who leads the firm’s dress down programme, commented: “Cayman HospiceCare, Meals on Wheels and the Cayman Islands Breast Cancer Foundation are all widely-recognised and respected charities within the local community and demonstrated a need for the firm’s assistance; we are delighted to be in a position to help them carry out their community efforts.”
Jennifer Grant-McCarthy, Operations and Fundraising Manager for Cayman HospiceCare, is appreciative of Appleby’s continued support. “It costs Cayman HospiceCare more than $1,700 per day to provide the free of charge specialised nursing services we offer, and raising those funds can be extremely challenging. The current economic situation is as hard, if not harder, than it has ever been, but the employees of Appleby have remained committed to charitable giving. The fact that they have chosen Cayman HospiceCare as one of their charities is a huge compliment to our board and staff. The Appleby team shines as an example in our community with their continued generosity.”
Appleby’s Managing Partner-Elect Bryan Hunter also said: “Appleby actively seeks opportunities by which the firm can support the Cayman community whether that support comes in the form of raising money, volunteering time or sponsoring charitable events. It is encouraging to see so many of our staff members excited about serving their local community and we are all very much looking forward to raising the bar even higher during the current fiscal year.”
